Today was less about jewelry & more about knitting and an ill-fated gathering about FIOS.
I am finishing up a wonderful cowl,
The Destroyed Cowl. I needed more Berocco Ultra Alpaca & ventured to my LYS (local yarn shops). The two I stopped by today were
Black Sheep Yarn in Cockeysville &
Lovely Yarns in Hampden, hon.
Instead of getting the Berocco (it's on the way next week), we ended up with some beautiful red yarns. We're mixing Nuna #1004(a lustrous bamboo, silk, wool mix) with Araucania Ranco #301 & Louisa Harding Sari Ribbon #24. It's a beautiful trio. #17 needle & 10 k sts. Simplicity.
So what about FIOS??? You tell me. We had a meeting @ our building & it was all hard sell. I can't believe I gave the person all this personal info about myself & he still hadn't given me what I wanted out of the package. To make matters worse, there was no discount, no deal. And for that I gave up an evening of jewelry making. Well, until American Idol started.
I don't want to watch the show, but I can't help it. I got caught up in everyone & their bad nerves. I'll look forward to the weeks ahead as the singers grow surer and surer of themselves. Until then, I'll get antsy like I do watching ice skating/dancing. Can't handle the pressure if they fall. Although last night I watched the Canadian girl who lost her mother. I cried along with many other people when she finished.
I laughed today over the Octo-mom on the View. That laugh... That outfit.... Better to laugh over her oddities (try hard not to think about the kids) than to think about real news.

Zizi is all about supporting your LYS, as long as you can still afford tuna, catnip & Pounce!
